Opportunity to co-author British Infection Association’s Infection Quick Reference Guides

Would you like the opportunity to co-author one of the BIA Infection Quick Reference Guide (IQRG) guides below?

  • UTI and pyelonephritis (with Meghan Perry, Edinburgh)
  • Infective exacerbation of COPD (with Jo Herman, BIA and BTS senior author to be appointed)
  • Meningitis and Encephalitis (with Fiona McGill, Liverpool)
  • Fever in the returning traveller (with Vicky Johnston, HTD)

BIA is publishing a series of these 1-page visual guides for physicians seeing infection cases at the hospital front door. They will aid infection test selection and will signpost to relevant guidance.

They will be published on the BIA, RCP and other relevant websites, and talks are under way to release them in the Microguide app.

If you are interested in co-authoring one of these guides, along with a leading consultant in the field, please provide your expression of interest as per the details below.

If you are interested in applying, but not able to meet the deadlines below, please get in contact with us to discuss this before submitting an application.

A copy of the Sepsis IQRG can be found here for reference.

Timelines

16/03/22            Email expression of interest, CV and brief outline of your proposed plan to admin@britishinfection.org.  A full mock-up is not required: simply an overview of the important areas to consider, an awareness of relevant guidance and your planned approach to completing the document.

28/03/22            Outcome announced

28/06/22            First draft submission to IQRG working group, BIA

28/08/22            Final version submission to graphic designers
