The College Research Committee is pleased to announce the launch of the Trainees’ Research Medal Awards for 2024.
The Trainees' Research Medals are awarded annually for outstanding research work undertaken by pathologists or scientists in training. The awards are open to all trainees, scientists, oral pathologists or veterinary pathologists employed in a suitable specialty training or appropriate research/academic post during the year the submitted paper was published. The research paper must either have been either published or accepted for publication by a peer-reviewed journal.
Further details on the eligibility criteria, submission process and application form is available on the College website. The deadline for submission is 5pm, Friday 20th September 2024.

A full day of topical presentations & discussions concerning water related issues in the healthcare sector.
The BIA Trainee day will provide trainees with the opportunity to hear lectures on topical issues given by a range of experts, as well as providing a chance to network and contribute to debate. The event will be aimed at trainees within infection including, microbiology, virology, clinical infectious diseases, public health, antimicrobial pharmacists, biomedical scientists and infection prevention and control practitioners.

The Federation of Infection Societies (FIS) conference is the largest UK-hosted, international infection conference. It is a must-attend event for anyone working in infection prevention and control, infectious diseases, clinical microbiology and biomedical science.
Now in its 50th year, Topics in Infection will take place in person on Friday 31 January 2025. The day will run from 9am to 6.30pm (GMT), including a drinks reception.
For this special anniversary year we are planning some great talks to help us showcase progress on key areas of infection over the last 50 years, as well as hearing about topical issues in UK infections. This annual one-day meeting is delivered as a partnership between RSTMH, Barts Health and the UK Health Security Agency. It will bring together microbiologists, infectious disease physicians, infection control personnel and biomedical and clinical scientists to hear updates on recent “hot topics” in all aspects of infectious disease.

This event is in-person only; however, we are hoping to record parts of the event and will be looking to make that available after the meeting for a fee.
Take place from 1-4 June 2025 in Winipeg Manitoba, the IPAC Canada National Conference is hosted by Infection Prevention and Control Canada.
