The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is looking to appoint 12 professional members to the Interim Devices Working Group who have experience and/or special interests in one of the following areas:
- Oncology, Haematology, Thrombotic Disease e.g. Haematologist or oncologist
- Allergy, immune system and Inflammatory Disorders (TAU2) e.g. Immunologist
- Vaccines and Infectious Diseases e.g. Pathology, virologist, infectious diseases expert
- Skin, Senses, Movement and Pain e.g. Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist, Ophthalmologist, Neurologist or Palliative Care
- Psychiatric Disorders, Cognition, Mental Health and CNS e.g. Psychiatrist
- Musculoskeletal Trauma Cosmetic e.g. Orthopaedic surgeon
- Respiratory, Imaging and Critical Care e.g. Anaesthetist/Intensivist, Respiratory physicians or Radiologist
- Cardiovascular e.g. Cardiologist
- Metabolic and Renal Systems e.g. Nephrologist
- Gastrointestinal System, Nutrition, Endocrine and Fertility e.g. Obstetrician, Gynaecologist or Urologist
- Software as a medical device
- In-vitro diagnostics e.g. laboratory professional with a proven track record and interest in pathology and In-vitro diagnostics
The Interim Devices Working Group is a working group formed to provide expert advice regarding decisions on the safety, performance, benefits and risks of devices in use in the United Kingdom healthcare system, prior to the launch of the statutory committee under the Medicines and Medical Devices Act 2021 in 2023.
